My Skills

Most of my skills are self-taught or ones that I’ve learned on the job over the years. I’m adept at people and project management, always looking for ways to improve existing processes.

Management

Since beginning my career in 2015, I’ve built up both people and project management skills. I managed a team of over ten freelance writers at Android Central for over four years, and I oversaw external agencies as a PR Manager at Gearbox.

I like to adapt my team management style to what they need best, whether that’s a closer guiding hand or softer approach that allows them the room to grow. I love mentoring my team members and helping them become more successful. Management thrives on good communication between all parties. I want my entire team to feel empowered in their work.

For project management, I like to take a more hands-on approach in the planning and execution. I’m adept at anticipating and mitigating blockers in content production, improving our efficiency and output. I’m comfortable speaking my ideas and I’m always open to constructive feedback.

Software

Whether professionally or casually, I’ve used and mastered plenty of software applications over the years. These range from a variety of proprietary content management systems (CMS) to more common ones like WordPress. During my time in games media, I’d plan, schedule, and monitor all of Android Central’s games editorial work through Airtable. At Gearbox, I would use Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office to track and complete projects.

Communications

From journalism to public relations, I specialize in crafting strategic communications through blog posts, articles, press releases, and more. I keep my finger on the pulse of community sentiment and current events, ensuring that all public communications regarding my projects are appropriate and well-received. I’ve forged deep bonds within various gaming communities, media, and the games industry.

Social Media

I’m constantly on social media platforms and am familiar with a variety of content creators and influencers. Social media is where brands live and breathe and these platforms are an integral marketing tool to speak directly to the community. I’ll often be posting on Twitter/X and Discord or watching my favorite creators on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.
